You think renewable energies are important? You want to be part of the energy transition by developing international energy projects? You’d like to learn to develop international energy businesses in collaboration with students from other cultures? If so, this master's degree programme is exactly what you need to get your career off to a winning start.
Pursuing studies with a high degree of practical relevance, you will learn to develop renewable energy projects in an international group of students at the interface between technology, management and regulation. This degree gives you excellent career opportunities, whether you wish to work in your home country or for an international company.
You will learn everything you need to know to work successfully as a project developer on renewable energy projects in an international setting. Within three semesters, you will raise your knowledge to a new level and finish with the master's thesis. We offer you a broad academic education, first of all covering the specific technical subjects relating to the major renewable energy technologies:
- PV
- wind
- biogas
- hydrogen
You will gain an understanding of the functioning of the electrical energy system, the importance of energy storage and its integration into the system.
In addition, the following contents play a special role in the course of study:
- construction law
- energy law
- regulation
- international project financing
- project management
- project development
All topics are of course always considered with an international focus. In addition to the compulsory courses, you can choose from a range of electives – according to your personal preferences. We care about your intercultural skills, which is why this master’s programme offers wide-ranging opportunities to apply your knowledge in practice-oriented and intercultural projects right from the start. The entire programme is taught in English. Of course we give you the opportunity to learn German, too. This means you will be ideally prepared for your job in an international environment or company.
You’ve already gained a bachelor's degree with a background in energy technology or energy economics or related subjects and you’re interested in renewable energies and project development or management in an international context? If so, the master's programme International Renewable Energy Project Development at TH Aschaffenburg is the perfect choice for you.
You have completed your bachelor's degree with an overall grade of 2.5 or better or demonstrably belong to the top 50 % of graduates in your subject. You should have gained 210 ECTS in your bachelor's degree. If you have completed your bachelor's degree with less than 210 ECTS, you can still join us: we offer you the possibility of making up the missing ECTS by taking courses from our bachelor programme offered by the faculty that fit in with the master’s programme. We will be happy to advise you on the selection of suitable modules if you are admitted. Another possibility would be to do an internship at a company in the sector, or else study at our university before starting the master's programme itself.
One important aspect of the study programme is the practically oriented development of renewable energy projects. For this purpose, we maintain partnerships with companies in the field of renewable energies. So you are welcome to work in close coordination or cooperation with companies in Germany, in your home country or anywhere in the world during this master's programme. We will be more than happy to support you in this.
One possible start is to join the project development department of a company or a bank engaged in the development of renewable energy projects at the international level, perhaps in your home country. A governmental organisation would also be a suitable employer. Last but not least, working as a private project developer is a sound option in this field, too. Your educational profile makes you particularly interesting on the international job market, but not only that.
For inspiration, here are a few concrete career options at home and abroad:
- Project management
- Technical sales
- Project development
- Procurement
- Project financing
- Policy advisory services
That covers a wide range, so there’s nothing that stands in the way of your secure professional future. The market for international energy projects is large and growing dynamically. This is the great benefit of this academic programme and the professional qualification it gives you.
