For the third time, Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences is the host and coordinating institution for the Global Master School to be opened by President Wilfried Diwischek at an official welcome dinner on the weekend of 20/21 May.

At this year’s Global Master School entitled “Doing Business in Europe – and Beyond”, some 30 students following master's degree programmes in international management at h-ab as well as MBA students from partner universities in Finland, Hungary, Portugal and the USA will be getting together to gain compact insights into current political, economic and cultural issues relating to the European Union and its international business partners.

Together with guest lecturers from partner universities in the USA, the Netherlands and Finland, h-ab lecturers along with experts in the areas of business and politics will be sharing their expertise and experience at the Global Master School, an English-language event.

Working in international teams, students will look at current issues relating to the following subject areas:

  • Doing Business in the European Union: The Digital Single Market/Digital Economy
  • EU Institutions and Decision Making Processes in the EU
  • International Negotiations Intercultural Competence/Global Competence

The highlight of this year’s Global Master School is a whole-day practical EU negotiation simulation in which students take on concrete roles and engage in negotiations between the EU institutions European Commission, European Parliament and the Council of the EU. The diverse Global Master School programme is rounded off with visits and excursions to the European Central Bank and the European Space Operation Centre in Darmstadt.

The Global Master School is part of a trilateral partnership with the University of St. Louis, US, and Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences, Finland, and is held at one of the three institutions on an alternating basis. It is fixed component of the English-language master’s degree programme "International Management" offered by the Faculty of Business and Law and is organized jointly with the International Office and the Career Service. The contact partners for the Global Master School are Prof. Alexandra Angress for the Faculty of Business and Law and Bettina Arnold of the International Office.
