The motto of the international week in Taiwan was “Culture – Education – Global Mobility”.

From October 29th to November 1st, the first International Language Week (ILW) took place on the campus of the h-ab partner university "National Taipei University of Business (NTUB)" in Taiwan, following the example of Aschaffenburg. The international week was held under the motto "Culture – Education – Global Mobility" and brought together participants from Germany, the USA, the Netherlands and Hungary alongside the Taiwanese hosts; the h-ab was represented by Prof. Dr. Renate Link and Marcel Rother. The guests gave lectures to NTUB students on the topic of "Intercultural Communication".

At a daily "Cultural Exhibition" in the foyer, NTUB students also had the opportunity to inform themselves about the culture of the guest lecturers and the study opportunities at their home universities. The guests themselves were also given a comprehensive insight into Taiwanese tradition and modernity through the supporting programme. They visited the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial and the National Palace Museum, among others, and undertook excursions to the Longshan Temple, Taipei's oldest temple, and to the famous Taipei 101 Tower (at 508 metres one of the tallest buildings in the world).

The "International Language Week including Intercultural Communication" had already taken place twice on the Aschaffenburg campus in the winter semesters of 2015 and 2017 on the initiative of Prof. Dr. Renate Link, Vice Head of the Language Centre, before the idea was born at the 2017 ILW to develop the week into an even more international and regular network event and to hold it annually with changing h-ab partners abroad instead of only every two years in Aschaffenburg. The ILW will be organised for the first time by the US-American h-ab partner university "Montana State University Billings" in autumn 2019, before returning to the h-ab on the occasion of its 5th anniversary in winter 2020.
