Materials research for more sustainability

The competencies of our scientists conducting research in Clean Tech are highly interdisciplinary. Interdisciplinary teams from the focus areas Intelligent Systems and Materials are jointly developing new concepts and technologies for the sustainable use of resources, materials and energy as well as for climate protection.

Within the research area Materials, research projects in Clean Tech focus on:

  • research into sustainable materials
  • the resource-conserving use of materials, e.g. through the realisation of future-oriented material cycles and recycling processes
  • research into sustainable material processing methods
  • the dialogue between science and the public: promotion of awareness of environment and resource conservation
