Workshop 1: Strengthen the employability of Jordanian students through Career Services

The objectives of the first workshop in 2015 were three-fold and corresponded to the sub-goals of the DAAD DIES project on “Establishing Career Service Structures and Processes at GJU”:

  • Networking by introducing the cooperation with H-AB to GJU staff and creating a basis for future collaboration between Career Guidance Offices at Jordanian universities
  • Staff training by increasing stakeholders’ understanding of the local circumstances and challenges
  • Capacity building by providing ideas on how to strengthen the employability of Jordanian students

To realize the above mentioned sub-goals, GJU and Aschaffenburg University of Applied Science invited two networking experts from a large career service in Germany to conduct the workshop: Andreas Eimer, head of Career Service at University of Münster, and Dr. Jan Knauer from the Team Employability at the same Career Service.

Workshop 2: University Process Management

The second workshop focused on building the skill capacity of GJU staff members. The objective was to introduce GJU staff members to basic quality management and process management issues so that they can achieve the objectives of the overall DAAD DIES cooperation, which is to establish Career Service structures and processes at GJU. GJU staff members were briefed also on a new process management tool called Prodobo.

GJU purchased the software with funds from the DAAD DIES project and will cover the monthly running costs henceforth. The objectives of the workshop were two-fold and corresponded to the sub-goals of the DAAD DIES project on “Establishing Career Service Structures and Processes at GJU”:

  • Networking by introducing the cooperation with H-AB to GJU staff
  • Staff training by increasing internal stakeholders’ understanding of GJU processes and challenges and by briefing participants about process management software
