Prof. Dr. Patrick Weber

 

Prof. Dr. Patrick Weber, CFA, was appointed to the Professorship of Finance and Quantitative Methods in September 2025. He studied Economics and Econometrics at the University of Nottingham and completed his doctorate at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Prior to his appointment, his professional experience included positions at the Deutsche Bundesbank, the European Central Bank, and a private bank. Weber is a CFA charterholder.

 

Biography

  • Since 2025: Professor of Finance and Quantitative Methods and Director of the Institute for Asset Management, Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences
  • 2015–2025: Various specialist and leadership positions at the Deutsche Bundesbank, most recently as Head of the Office of the Chief Data Officer (CDO) and of the Bundesbank's Data Governance Office
  • 2017–2018: Senior Economist-Statistician, European Central Bank, seconded to support the development of the euro short-term rate (€STR)
  • 2013–2015: Senior Associate, European Fixed Income Research, Berenberg
  • 2012–2013: Research Associate, Chair of Financial Economics, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management
  • 2009–2012: Research Associate, Chair of the Economics of Financial Institutions, EBS Business School (Oestrich-Winkel)
