The cost of study in Aschaffenburg is already quite affordable. On top of that, there are also many generous grant and scholarship schemes offered by the German government and various foundations. These programmes can help you cover your living costs during your stay in Germany.

Typical (monthly) expenses

There are no tuition fees. The semester fee amounts to 70 EUR.

Most non-EU nationals will need a visa to enter Germany, or will need to apply for a residence permit if they stay in Germany for more than three months. If you do, you are usually required to present proof of financial resources in order to receive a study visa (or residence permit) for Germany. Currently, you are expected to demonstrate funds of 934 EUR per month / 11,208 EUR per year. For further information, please contact the German Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence.

  • Breakdown of typical expenses

    In Germany, the Studentenwerk maintains a range of services such as the cafeteria, the halls of residence, or counselling services. According to the Bavarian Higher Education Act, all students (including Erasmus+ and exchange students) are to pay a small service fee for the administration of these services. This fee is called Studentenwerksbeitrag – semester fee.

    Paying the semester fee is mandatory for enrolment at Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences. Currently, the semester fee amounts to 70 EUR.

  • Scholarships for exchange students awarded by AUAS

    STIBET I

    Aschaffenburg UAS provides scholarships for exchange students from partner universities. STIBET I is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with means from the Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt).

  • Scholarships for degree-seeking students awarded by AUAS

    DAAD Prize

    Each year the DAAD Prize is awarded to one outstanding international student. It is endowed with EUR 1,000 and funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with means from the Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt).

    Graduation grants

    Aschaffenburg UAS awards the graduation grants to international degree-seeking students to support their last year of studies before graduation. These grants are funded by the Bavarian State Ministry for Science and the Arts.
