The Future of Libraries is Open (FOLIO)

Successful transition to new open-source library system

We are delighted that, following intensive preparatory work, we have today been able to launch the new open-source library system FOLIO and a new library catalogue. The switch was supported by the Bavarian Library Network, the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) and the IT department at UAS Aschaffenburg.

The new system controls the internal processes of the library and brings about major changes, especially for employees. For you as a member of the university, there are also some new features that make it more convenient to use the library:

  1. These services are available (again):
    • New catalogue with a modern and clear layout: www.search.lib.th-ab.de
    • For students: Login to the library catalogue and your personal library account is now via Shibboleth
    • For guests: Login is wokring again with your library number
    • Renewals of your borrowed media are automatic
    • The most popular media types can be found more quickly thanks to clearer filters
    • Self-service checkout and self-service payment are possible again
  2. Icon_achtung-001
    Service restrictions continuing:

Interlibrary loans are not yet available again. We are working hard to restore this service as soon as possible so that you can access a wide range of academic literature as usual.

Online introductions to the new catalogue will be offered in the winter semester. Registration is via the course portal.
