STEPS4EU

STEPS4EU Kick-off-Meeting in Mailand
  1. Economic and Social Transformation
  2. Business Transformation and Innovation Management

Improvement of the overall success of engineering projects in the EU through the development of cross-functional skills of all participating team members.

Cooperation partners

In addition to UAS Aschaffenburg, the Italian University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, the Finnish Turku University of Applied Sciences, the Dutch Leiden Educational Institutions and the Polish Warsaw School of Economics are also involved in this Erasmus+ project.

Background

The Management of engineering projects in an environment where complexity is continually increasing requires an improvement in effectiveness. In that respect, the current skills gaps of engineers and technical personnel must be closed in response to the needs of companies. To this end, it is necessary to increase the effectiveness of curricula.

Objective

The aim of the cooperation and partnership project is to improve the performance and overall success of engineering projects throughout the EU. The project will develop the overarching skills of professional engineers, engineering students and consequently, engineering staff in European companies, as well as the project management and project team members of these engineering projects.

In addition, the project takes into account the future competence requirements defined, for example, by the national associations of the technology industry, the OECD (2018) “Future of Education and Skills – Education 2030” and the EU (2019) “Key Competences for Lifelong Learning”. “Future of Education and Skills – Education 2030” and “Key Competences for Lifelong Learning” are part of the competence requirements for the curricula of future project specialists.

Interim Goals:

  • Improving the management and delivery of technical projects (Research & Development, design or industrial/Infrastructure/Information and communication technology supply contracts
  • Optimization of timely, cost-efficient and quality-compliant project implementation
  • Reducing the overall risk of technical projects
  • Increasing the general competitiveness of companies in the EU

The project name STEPS4EU stands for Shaping The Engineers’ Personal and Interpersonal Skills for Enterprises and Universities.
