WindEFCY

  1. Intelligent Sensors and Signals
  2. Clean Tech

The aim of the projects is to be able to better calculate the energy generated by planned wind farms and thus accelerate the transition to cleaner energy sources.

Funding

European Metrology Programme for Innovation and Research EMPIR

Background

Aschaffenburg UAS’s task is to implement the algorithms previously researched by M. Eng. Alexander Stock and Prof. Dr. Engr. Johannes Teigelkötter for calculation of power for non-sinusoidal currents and voltages in a calculation program. Furthermore, it is planned to develop algorithms for calculating mechanical quantities from the measured electrical quantities and to transfer these into a calculation program as well.

Objective

The aim of the three-year is to better predict the energy generated by planned wind farms, provide greater security of investment and accelerate the transition to cleaner energy sources.

  • Methods

Within the framework of this research project, a guideline for determining the efficiency of wind turbines on test stands is being crated for the first time. In this process, standardized guidelines for determining turbine efficiency on test stands and new performance measurement methods for the electrical components of wind turbines will be developed.
