New Vice President elected

Prof Dr Ivo Schäfer will take over as Vice President for Studies, Teaching and International Affairs at Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences in the summer semester of 2024.

On 7 February, the members of the University Council of Aschaffenburg UAS appointed Prof. Dr Ivo Schäfer as the successor to Prof. Dr Holger Paschedag. Paschedag will step down at the end of the 2023/2024 winter semester for family reasons. He was initially elected in 2019 until 30 September 2019, then for three years and confirmed in office in 2022 for a further three years until the end of the 2025 summer semester. On 15 March, Schäfer will become the new Vice President for Studies, Teaching and International Affairs for the remainder of his predecessor's term of office, i. e. until 14 September 2025.

Schäfer gained relevant experience with digital teaching formats in early pilot projects. He has also long been involved in the conception and implementation of the annual freshers' welcome and the organisation of university-wide events such as the Student Information Day and the Open Campus. Maintaining contact with TH AB's international partner universities is also particularly important to him. Professor Schäfer has previously served on various university bodies and committees, including the Faculty Council of Business and Law (WR), appointment committees and as a member of the WR Evaluation Commission.
