Shaping the Future of Survey Methodology Education in Europe

A newly approved ERASMUS+ Cooperation Partnership Project, SHERLOCK, unites six European universities in an ambitious effort to shape the future of survey methodology education across Europe.

This week, Prof. Dr. Eva-Maria Beck-Meuth, President of the Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences (TH AB), signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of TH AB, one of the project’s consortium partners.

Coordinated by Université Savoie Mont Blanc (France) and funded by the European Union with €400,000, the three-year project (September 2025 – August 2028) aims to transform survey methodology education through digital, gamified learning, and by strengthening international and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The SHERLOCK project consortium consists of the following partner universities:

  • Université Savoie Mont Blanc (France) – Project Coordinator
  • Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera, Valencia (Spain)
  • Howest University of Applied Sciences, Bruges (Belgium)
  • Bratislava University of Economics and Business, EUBA (Slovakia)
  • University of Applied Sciences Aschaffenburg (Germany)
  • Haute école de gestion de Genève (Switzerland) and SPHINX (associated project partners)

The project seeks to revolutionize survey methodology education by integrating digital and AI-based learning, enhancing data literacy and analytical skills, and promoting evidence-based decision making on key European priorities. Over 36 months, SHERLOCK will equip students, educators, and professionals with the tools to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world applications.

Following an online kick-off meeting, the first official transnational partner meeting will take place in mid-November 2025 at the Université Savoie Mont Blanc in Annecy, France.
